MTA Red Sox Reading Game Rules

Sweepstakes rules:

All U.S. federal, state, local and municipal laws and regulations apply. Void where prohibited. No purchase necessary.

To enter and play:

In order to be eligible for the sweepstakes, signature of parent or guardian, name of a teacher, and the age and most recently completed grade level of the participant must be provided.

The sweepstakes will begin at 12:01 a.m. (EST) on May 16, 2007, and conclude August 1, 2007 (the "sweepstakes period"). Only entries postmarked during that period of time will be counted in the sweepstakes. The MTA will not be responsible for incomplete, lost, late, illegible, or misdirected entries. A purchase does not increase one's chance of winning.

Eligibility:

The sweepstakes is open only to students enrolled in grades K-8 during the duration of the sweepstakes. In order to be eligible, all student entries must be signed by a parent or guardian. Teachers or other persons linked to a student entry who are not the parent or guardian of that student must receive written permission from parent or guardian of the student to approve prize acceptance for a student. Teachers named on students' sweepstakes entries will also be eligible to win gift coupons. To be considered, all entries must be date stamped with postmark no later than August 1, 2007, the conclusion of the sweepstakes time period.

Winner notification and acceptance:

The parent or guardian whose address is associated with the entry of the student winners will be notified via mail. Teachers or other persons linked to a student entry who are not the parent or guardian of that student must receive written permission from parent or guardian of the student to approve prize acceptance for a student. Prizes are non-assignable and non-transferable. A parent or guardian of the sweepstakes winner must accompany sweepstakes winner to the game. Failure to comply with any term or condition of these official rules may, at the sole discretion of MTA, result in a winner's disqualification, the forfeiture of his or her interest in the prize, and the award of prize to an alternate winner. Except where prohibited, acceptance of sweepstakes prizes constitutes consent to the publication of winner’s name and image in any media for any commercial or promotional purpose, without limitation or further compensation. MTA reserves the right to cancel or modify the sweepstakes if it determines, in its sole discretion, that fraud or technical failures have destroyed the integrity of the sweepstakes.
