Official Rules:
In order to be eligible for the promotion, signature of parent or guardian, name and the age and most recently completed grade level of the participant must be provided. The promotion will begin at 12:01 a.m. (EST) on January 5th , 2008, and conclude February 15, 2008 (the “promotion period”). Only entries postmarked during that period of time will be counted in the sweepstakes. The MTA will not be responsible for incomplete, lost, late, illegible, or misdirected entries.

Eligibility:
The promotion is open only to students enrolled in grades K-12 during the duration of the promotion. In order to be eligible, all student entries must be signed by a parent or guardian. To be considered, all entries must be date stamped with postmark no later than February 15, 2007, the conclusion of the promotion time period.

Winner notification and acceptance:
The parent or guardian whose address is associated with the entry of the student winners will be notified via phone and E-mail. A parent or guardian of the promotion winner must accompany the student to the game. Failure to comply with any term or condition of these official rules may, at the sole discretion of MTA, result in a winner’s disqualification, the forfeiture of his or her interest in the prize. Except where prohibited, acceptance of promotion prizes constitutes consent to the publication of winner’s name and image in any media for any commercial or promotional purpose, without limitation or further compensation. MTA reserves the right to cancel or modify the promotion if it determines, in its sole discretion, that fraud or technical failures have destroyed the integrity of the promotion.

Prizes are non-assignable and non-transferable. Failure to comply with any term or condition of these official rules may, at the sole discretion of MTA, result in a winner’s disqualification, the forfeiture of his or her interest in the prize, and the award of prize to an alternate winner. Except where prohibited, acceptance of promotion prizes constitutes consent to the publication of winner’s name and image in any media for any commercial or promotional purpose, without limitation or further compensation. Limitation of liability:
By participating in the promotion, contestant agrees that (1) any and all disputes, claims, and causes of action arising out of or connected with the promotion, or any prizes awarded, shall be resolved individually without resort to any form of class action; (2) any and all claims, judgments and awards shall be limited to actual out-of-pocket costs incurred, including costs associated with entering the promotion but in no event attorneys’ fees; and (3) under no circumstances will any promotion entrant be permitted to obtain any award for, and entrant hereby waives all rights to claim punitive, incidental or consequential damages and any and all rights to have damages multiplied or otherwise increased and any other damages, other than for actual out-of-pocket expenses, and any and all rights to have damages multiplied or otherwise increased.

Construction:
All issues and questions concerning validity, interpretation and enforceability of these official rules, or the rights and obligations of the promotion and MTA, shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts without giving effect to any choice of law or conflict of law rules or provisions. The invalidity or unenforceability of any provision of these rules shall not affect the validity or enforceability of any other provision. In the event that any provision is determined to be invalid or otherwise unenforceable or illegal, these rules shall otherwise remain in effect and be construed in accordance with their terms as if the invalid or illegal provision were not contained herein.

General release:
By registering on and using the Reading Matters web site, thereby participating in the promotion, promotion participants release MTA, Boston Bruins, prize suppliers, and all affiliated companies, and each of their respective affiliated companies, directors, officers, employees, representatives and agents from any liability whatsoever for any claims, costs, injuries, losses, or damages of any kind arising out of or in connection with the sweepstakes or with the acceptance, possession, or use of any prize (including, without limitation, claims, costs, injuries, losses and damages related to personal injuries, death, damage to, loss or destruction of property, rights of publicity or privacy, defamation, or portrayal in a false light).
