This year the Bruins are also teaming up with the MTA and WCRB to help promote the Music Matters Program to bolster student interest in music. A bruins player will produce a radio advertisement this fall to help promote the program, was is starting its second year and was created to supplement existing school music programs with interactive music education sessions from seasoned musicians.

Twice a month, Music Matters sessions are held at schools around Massachusetts. Each session consists of core elements such as identifying musical instruments, listening to different instruments, and an Instrument Petting Zoo where students were encouraged to touch and play instruments like the cello and the violin. 

As the program gears up for the 2008 - 2009 school year, applications are already being submitted to have WCRB’s Music Matters program visit different schools. For more information on the Music Matters program or an application, log on to WCRB.com
