Welcome to Readingmatters.org

Reading Maters was an organization originally created by the MTA to promote literacy in association with the Boston Red Sox. The success of  the MTA’s partnership with the Boston Red Sox to promote summer reading created the foundation for a series of programs the MTA has built to help get students excited about learning throughout the school year.

In addition to the World Champion Boston Red Sox, the MTA has created partnerships with the Boston Bruins, the NBA Champion Boston Celtics and Classical radio station WCRB. The partnerships may focus on different curriculum areas but they all share the same goal - to promote student achievement in Massachusetts public schools.

“The programs operated through Reading Matters have become a fun and effective way to stimulate student achievement in a wide variety of curriculum areas,” said MTA President Anne Wass.
